Open Competition
Conditions of Entry
Competitions shall be open to players who are members of an Affiliated golf club; who have Amateur Status in accordance with the current Amateur Status Rules of the R & A Rules Limited and have a valid CDH/ WHS number with a full playing record.
Bolton Golf Club reserve the right to accept or refuse any entry without giving reasons for its decision, which shall be final.
Late attendance on the first tee will be treated with strict adherence to Rule 5.3 – i.e. up to 5 minutes late will attract a two-shot penalty applied to the first hole, and any later will result in disqualification. To avoid the risk of penalties competitors are asked to report to the official starter at the first tee 5 minutes before their starting time.
With the exception of the practice putting green by the 1st tee, a player must not practice on the competition course before play. The penalty for breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
A suspension of play will be signaled by TWO blasts of the Klaxon, resumption of play will be signaled by ONE blast of the Klaxon.
If a group finishes the round more than the starting interval behind the group in front of all players in the group are subject to a penalty of one stroke.
In team competition, if one handicap is incorrect, the whole team are disqualified.
In the event of the competition being abandoned for whatever reason, a result will only be declared provided all competitors have started and at least ⅔ of the scores have been returned.
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated and a player may be penalized during a round, examples include failure to care for the course, unacceptable language, abuse of clubs or the course, being disrespectful of other players and officials.
All disputes shall be settled by the Competitions Committee whose decision shall be final.
