Neil Woolfrey took over the reins at Bolton in March 2008, Neil has been in the greenkeeping industry since July 1985 having held the position of Head Greenkeeper at Great Lever & Farnworth Golf Club prior to moving to Bolton.Neil has four regular members of staff along with a part time Assistant Head Greenkeeper - Damien Byrne & Head Greenkeeper - Neil Woolfreymember to implement work as laid down by the Green Committee in the Course Policy Document. 

The course is a mix of heathland and parkland and has many mature oaks along its boundaries. Attention to detail and quality is paramount at Bolton, this is borne out by the numerous comments made about the condition of the course by members and visitors alike. 

The club also has numerous wildlife including ducks, water hens and a number of roe deer.

From its highest point golfers can enjoy panoramic views of North Wales and the Cheshire Plains.
